HISTORY

Historically renowned for its surfing, forests, beaches and wine, mountain biking has now become one of, if not the, primary reason for visitors to the Margaret River region due to a network of trails that has something to offer everyone right in the heart of town.

The Margaret River Off Road Cycling Association, MRORCA, was formed in October 2014 after the amalgamation of the Margaret River Off Road Cycling Club and the Margaret River Cycle Club.

The club is committed to fostering an appreciation of and care for our amazing natural surroundings. We are equally committed to ensuring that mountain biking remains an integral part of recreational tourism in the region well into the future.

With trails existing within the Wooditjup National Park, the club enjoys a strong and effective partnership with the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions resulting in some of the most picturesque and well maintained trails the state has to offer. Future trail expansion into the wharncliffe area is currently on the table for discussion.

Our purpose

  • To promote, encourage and develop the activity of off road cycling for people of all ages, abilities and disciplines in the Margaret River region

  • To act as advocates and liaise with land managers for the purpose of planning, establishing and maintaining regional trail networks.

  • To foster appreciation and care of our natural environment via the sustainable use of our natural assets.

  • To foster community health and well being through the activity of off road cycling.

  • To ensure that off road cycling access and trail planning become an integral part of the recreational and tourism philosophy of the Margaret River region.
