Lil' Miss Orca and MRORCA Grommets are our year-round Kids Mountain Bike Coaching programmes that run weekly, every school term.
We understand that boys and girls can have different goals when it comes to enjoying mountain biking.
Lil' MIss Orcas, was created in 2019 as a safe, all female place for young girls to learn skills to increase confidence and enjoyment on the trails. We also foster fun and friendship with the games and races as well as adventure rides.
MRORCA Grommets is a coaching programme for both boys and girls. This group welcomes all levels of riders, from age 7+. Boys are naturally more high octane than the girls, and the energy level of this group demonstrates this!
Our experienced coaches create fun & skill focussed sessions for your little frother.
All of our coaches are PMBIA & Auscycling Accredited and have WWC clearances.
The State Government through the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries is a major
supporter of the trails and services provided by Margaret River Off-Road Cycling Association in Western Australia.
Sport and recreation creates vibrant, inclusive and connected WA communities.

Brendan is a PMBIA 2 qualified MTB Coach and started racing BMX in the 80’s then found Mountain Biking in the late 90’s & never looked back. Riding has led him to some amazing places including living in Whistler (Canada) & Wanaka (NZ), working as a bike mechanic, trail builder & guide, along with riding & racing trips all over the world.
He still frothes on riding & racing his bike & is stoked to be a part of helping riders progress, from the early basic skills, right through to advanced skills & racecraft.

Ian is a PMBIA qualified MTB Coach and started riding in Canada while on a teaching exchange to Vancouver Island in 2011. Since then, has ridden in NZ, USA, Canada and many places in Australia.
I like to work with kids and I would like to see more kids get off the couch and get into riding so they can appreciate their local forests and other areas of trail development.

Sarah scheltema
Sarah is a PMBIA qualified MTB Coach and has been involved with bikes since a tiny tot. Growing up in a country town as a child, her precious bright green Malvern Star was her gateway to many adventures and much mischief. Teenage years saw her bike as her principle mode of transport and a way to escape and explore.
Move forward decades, and after owning a bike shop in Perth and working in three other bike shops escaping to Margaret River was when the mountain bike bug hit really hard.
"Coaching is a wonderful and rewarding experience. There is nothing quite like seeing the girls in our Lil Miss Orca progress from nervous newbies to confident trail warriors and seeing the excitement and pride on their faces when they tackle a feature or ride a trail that was totally beyond their skills at the beginning of the term"
